Easy Hikes
Hoosier Pass Loop: Beautiful Hike above the Tree line with only a modest elevation.
Spruce Creek Loop: Enjoy two beautiful mountain lakes and its breathtaking views.
Carter Park: Very easy hike, you’ll see the entire Tenmile Range and Breckenridge Ski Resort.
Sawmill Trail: The hike follows the stream at the base of the lift to a reservoir.
Burro Trail: Trail starts close to town, and has several hiking options.
Moderate Hikes
Blue Lakes-Monte Cristo Gulch: Take a trail to a Historic Mine, surrounded by alpine lakes.
McCullough Gulch: This 2.6-mile hike meanders through evergreen forests, past waterfalls, meadows, and wildflowers.
Mohawk Lakes: It’s a stunning five-mile hike that climbs to gorgeous lakes and historic ruins. It’s equal parts challenging and doable for the entire family.
Difficult Hikes
Quandary Peak: Quandary is a friendly but rigorous hike. Although only six miles, the trail climbs 3,305 feet and will take anywhere from three to nine hours to complete.(Dog on a leash only)The trail offers other activities like rock climbing and mountain biking.
Wheeler National Recreation Trail: The logistical and athletic effort is well worth it for this long and challenging trail that crosses the Tenmile Range at nearly 12,500 feet.
